What Comes After Coffee?

Looking for the next Cup of Joe

For the past few years, in addition to writing my local restaurant reviews, I’ve been documenting my experiences at local coffee shops as “Cup of Joe Reports” and posting them on ActiveRain. If you haven’t had a chance to read them, I tend to discuss the environment and mood at the shop, the selection, presentation, and taste of the coffee and food items, and most importantly the service I receive. I’ll admit to having a huge backlog of pictures and notes from a variety of coffee shops that I’ve visited, but have yet to form into complete reports.

It may be that the coffee that Lisa brought back from Cuba (which is incredibly delicious) is distracting me from completing them. It could be that I drink a lot more coffee when it’s cold outside. It’s possible that I didn’t really have a great and memorable experience at those coffee shops. Really, I have no excuses.

I’ve been thinking about looking for the next great thing to write about. I would truly like to find the most consistently amazing local

French Onion Soup?

Onion Rings?

Italian Sub?

Key Lime Pie?

Carrot Cake?

Happy Hour?

Gin and Tonic?

What do you think?

Any thoughts on other categories I should consider? Are there any types of food you wish you could find here that were consistently amazing?

Today, I think I’ll refocus on coffee.

What am I missing?

I’ve already published Cup of Joe Reports on the following coffee shops. If your favorite isn’t listed below, send me the name and address of your favorite coffee shop in DC metropolitan area including DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia and I’ll go and check it out.
