How you can help…
May 11, 2020Sheltering at home can be lonely and boring, or exciting and rewarding, depending on how you use this time. There are also many people who are on the frontlines of the pandemic and aren’t getting the opportunity to use their time as they choose.
Many of the people I’ve spoken with really want to help, but aren’t sure what they can do. Here are a few ideas. Please feel free to add others in the comments below.
Feed the Front Line Heroes at Shady Grove Hospital:
For RedDay May 14th, my office at KW Capital Properties in Rockville will be supporting two local restaurants by ordering 100 hot meals that will be delivered to the men and women working at Shady Grove Hospital. The local restaurants are The Spot in Downtown Rockville and Mandalay Restaurant in Silver Spring. To donate to this event, visit www.frontlawns2frontlines.com.
Donations of $20 or more will receive a yard sign delivered to your home for placement in your yard.
Help a Mask Maker Make More Masks:
The demand for face masks far exceeds the current supply. Natasia Chin, a real estate agent on the HAWT Team at KW Capital Properties in Rockville, is spending her free time sewing masks and has made and donated over 300 masks.
What you can do: Have any fabric or thread that you no longer need? Donate it to Natasia. Or send money for supplies via Venmo – @hawthomes
or PayPal – PayPal.me/henrynam
Donate Blood:
Hospitals are in need of blood and KWCP Bethesda is holding a Blood Drive at NIH on REDDay, May 14th. The signup is here: https://volunteersignup.org/LYPXA
