Will I go to a good high school?

Last night as I was driving my daughter to basketball practice she asked me if the high school she will attend is a good one. What she really wanted to know was how it measured up against some other local high schools where her teammates will attend. It made me realize that I haven’t checked the 2015 Ranking of High Schools from US News & World Report in awhile.

As a real estate agent, I know there are many tools available to home buyers that provide data about the local area schools. Many of the online tools, like GreatSchools.org, use different factors to determine a score. Some tools are less about a score and more about statistics and demographics, like the reports provided by each county for each individual school. Parents use all kinds of data to determine the school they feel matches what they want for their children.

Searching for the perfect home

Notice that there are 7 Virginia schools, 6 Maryland schools, and 1 Washington DC school that made the top 200 this year.
