Pizza at Duccini's

Eating in Adams Morgan – Duccini’s Pizza

July 22, 2014

I’m not sure if my clients realize that I’m always listening to them for recommendations. If they mention their great handyman, I immediately ask for his name and number. When they give me a tour of the great bathroom remodel they just completed, I inquire about who helped them with design or tile work. And, when a client passes a pizza shop and says, “This is my favorite pizza.” I know that I will be going there soon to taste it for myself.

That is why I went into Duccini’s Pizza in Adams Morgan. Based on a client’s recommendation.

Duccini's Pizza StorefrontTo be honest, I’m not sure I would have gone in otherwise. There is limited seating and there are plenty of other restaurants nearby that offer a wide variety of foods, including pizza. But, I had a little time before a meeting so I went in and ordered one slice of pepperoni pizza. It was $5.00 for one slice and $1.00 for the topping.

There was an empty stool along the window so I sat down and a man started a conversation with me and recommended the gyros. However, he said that his friend raves about their cheesesteaks and says they are the best in the DC area. He said most people love the pizza so I should be happy with my selection.

Next a woman came in and ordered a slice of cheese pizza. She was very friendly and seemed to have no problem with the idea of paying $5.00 for a slice of pizza. Our slices were ready at the same time, but she took hers to go. When they called my name, I went up and could not believe what I saw.

Duccini's Jumbo Slice

The slice was enormous. Very, very hot and enormous. It was about the size of 2 1/2 – 3 slices of pizza. All I could think was, “How on earth am I going to eat this?”

Luckily, I’m from New Jersey and know how to fold my pizza. But, when you fold this pizza, each side is larger than a whole slice and a lot longer.

I ate what I could in the little time I had before my meeting. It was pretty tasty and they were generous with the pepperoni, but I certainly did not need a jumbo slice.

My visit to Duccini’s Pizza was enjoyable and I will definitely return again when I’m more hungry. I can definitely see why my client likes Duccini’s. That’s the good thing about recommendations. Someone you trust has already tried it and decided it was worth you trying as well. If you’d like to give Duccini’s a try, it is located at 1778 U St NW, Washington, DC 20009.

Over the last 14 years in real estate, a majority of my clients have come from past client recommendations. I always love to hear what my past clients have told them about working with me and Buyer’s Edge. If you have a friend who is looking for a home in the DC Metropolitan Area, tell them about me. I always love your referrals.
